McLaren probably understands better than any other supercar manufacturers, that there’s more than one way to skin a cat. But hold on, don’t call PETA and ease off. No animals were harmed in the making of this car except those used in making of the leather seats.
McLaren has found yet another use for its carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and twin-turbo charged 3.8 litre V8 engine. To recap, the company has until now used it for; mp4 12 C, the 625 S, the 650 S, The P 1, the P 1 GTR and now the 675LT that was revealed in the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. To simplify what is quickly becoming a complicated list, you can think of this car as a light-weight hardcore version of 650 S.
It makes 675 horsepower and 516 lb-feet of maximum torque which is of course quite an improvement over 650 S. This car has also shed 220 pounds and has got air-brakes that is 50% bigger than the 650 S.
This is a limited production car and McLaren says that it only plans to produce 500 units out of which 200 have been allocated for the U.S, but that’s not an official statement.
The company is very reluctant to share other technical details of the car as of now. We must wait until the launch dates are declared and from thereon we will get to know further details about this car.
